Northern Strands is growing, and we're on the lookout for a passionate, detail-driven Outside Sales Representative, whose primary responsibility is promoting sales to existing customers and generating sales to new customers.  Northern Strands is a proud Saskatchewan-based company known for our innovation, integrity, and deep ties to the communities we serve.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Generate and prepare quotes for customers after gathering the appropriate information regarding costs of products, services, and timelines
  • Build strong customer relations and maintain customer confidence and satisfaction
  • Identify markets, industries, or businesses that can be serviced by Northern Strands
  • Prepare sales plans for servicing new customers or gaining a market percentage
  • Participate in tradeshows and seminars and follow-up with contacts created through those events
  • Meet with customers on a regular basis to discuss their needs and requirements
  • Ability to travel and be away from home for multiple nights in a row
  • Provide assistance and support to the Inside Sales teams, as needed, to generate sales
  • Other related duties as assigned

 

What You Bring to the Table

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years direct sales experience
  • Certificates related to mining or construction would be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to handle competing priorities simultaneously; work well under pressure with time-sensitive deadlines
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times
  • Any valid safety-related training certificates would be considered an asset (i.e., WHMIS, etc.)
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
